Pirogovo
Pirogovo is not only a museum, it is also a great green lung south of the city center. So if you're in for an outdoor stroll amid cosy oldfashioned villages, windmills and nature, then this is definitely a spot for you
Botanical Garden
Of course, spring is the ideal time to come here, when most flowers are in bloom, when birds twitter (no, they don't use i-phone) and the summer sun has not burned the gras yet.
Academic Botanical Garden
Behind the red building of the Shevshenko university, you can find the relaxing botanical garden. this is a nice spot for fresh air all year round. In front of the university building, the Shevshenko park offers more life.
Truchaniv Island
Going down from the arch of friendship, you can cross the river by a pedestrian bridge. At the other side, you find Truchaniv Island, good for a walk, a bike ride, or just laying on the beach.
Mariinsky
Overlooking the river, Mariinskyi park is a favourite place for lots of Kievans. In the middle of te park, Mariinskyi palace stands being renovated since years, and probably for years to come.
Near Andriivsky
Around Andriivskyi uzviz, there's lots of green. Don't hesitate to climb up one of the stairs that you see. They'll provide a wonderful view. Or walk toward the historical museum, and then through Payzazhnaya Allea.
